Questions, answered
Does HeatSeeker buy music for me?
No. It fills each store's cart in your own account and opens it. You review and check out yourself, on the store's own site.
Which stores does it search?
Beatport, Qobuz, Bandcamp, the iTunes Store and Amazon Music, plus free official sources: SoundCloud artist downloads, Bandcamp name-your-price, the Internet Archive's Live Music Archive and Jamendo. Record pool members can include BPM Supreme and DJcity.
Is it legal?
Yes. HeatSeeker only uses free downloads the artist or rights holder offers, and sends you to official stores for everything else. It skips fan uploads, bootlegs and unofficial edits.
Which formats?
MP3, AAC, WAV, AIFF, FLAC and ALAC, depending on what each store sells. If a store doesn't sell your format, that song goes to whichever store does, or to your review list.
Which playlists can I import?
Links from Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, TIDAL, Amazon Music and Deezer, or a file: Apple Music's exported playlist (.txt), CSV, or M3U.
What does it cost?
The Windows and Mac apps are free with ads; donating $5 or more turns the ads off. The browser extension is $5 once, with no ads. See pricing.
Does HeatSeeker see my passwords or card?
No. You sign in to stores on their own pages, and payments go through the stores or Stripe. See the privacy policy.
Is there a phone app?
iPhone and Android apps are on the way. The download page will have them as soon as they're out.
