HeatSeeker Alpha Terms
Last updated: October 8, 2026
These terms are between you and HeatSeeker ("we"). They cover the HeatSeeker Alpha: early, free access to HeatSeeker in exchange for testing it and posting about it. By applying, you agree to them.
1. Who can apply
You must be at least 18 years old and able to agree to these terms. We don't accept testers under 18, even with a parent's permission. One application per person. Applying doesn't guarantee a seat: we review every application by hand and choose testers at our discretion.
2. What you get
If you're accepted, you get an access code for HeatSeeker on Windows and Mac during the alpha, usable on up to 3 of your own devices, and an ad-free supporter key. The code is personal: don't share or sell it. To bring friends, use your invite link.
3. Your mission
Steps 1–3 within 14 days of acceptance, and step 4 at the end of the alpha:
- Post about your own experience with HeatSeeker on your social media.
- Share the HeatSeeker Alpha program, with your invite link.
- Paste the links to both posts in the app (🧪 Alpha tester).
- At the end of the alpha, complete the short alpha exit survey (about 5 minutes) within 30 days of our email asking for it.
Any complete, honest answers count. You don't have to say anything positive, and we'll never ask you for a review or a rating in exchange for your reward.
4. Honest posts and disclosure
- Every post must say clearly that you got HeatSeeker free as an alpha tester, for example "#ad" or "#HeatSeekerAlpha – free tester access", placed where people see it without clicking "more". The hashtag alone isn't enough. This is required by the FTC's endorsement rules (and similar rules elsewhere), and posts without it don't count.
- Say only what you really experienced. Don't claim results HeatSeeker didn't give you, and don't say HeatSeeker is made by, partnered with or endorsed by any store or music service.
- Follow the rules of the platform you post on, including its paid-partnership or branded-content settings where they apply.
- If we ask you to fix or add a disclosure, please do it promptly.
5. Your reward: the HeatSeeker unlock, free
If you complete your whole mission, including the exit survey, you get the HeatSeeker paid unlock free: the same one-time unlock other people pay for, with exactly what it includes for them (see our Terms of Use), on your own devices, for your personal use. You also get badges: the Alpha Tester badge, and the silver Early Supporter badge if your account is among HeatSeeker's first 10,000 verified sign-ups, under the same rules as everyone else.
That's the whole reward. It doesn't include anything else we offer now or later, such as DJ websites, hosting or any future subscription plan. It's personal and can't be transferred or sold. It lasts as long as a bought unlock does. We may end it early only under section 8.
Alpha Tester badge. Your Alpha Tester badge shows on your account as soon as you claim it in the app. To keep it after the alpha, complete the exit survey. If you don't complete the survey within 30 days of our email asking for it, the badge is removed and the free unlock in this section isn't earned; you can still buy HeatSeeker like anyone else. An unlock you paid for yourself keeps working either way. The badge is a recognition only: it has no cash value and can't be transferred or sold.
6. It's an alpha
HeatSeeker is unfinished. Features may change, break or go away, and data stored on your computer may be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important. We may pause or end the alpha at any time.
7. Your accounts on other sites
HeatSeeker searches music stores and services and can act in your own signed-in browser sessions on them (for example adding songs to your carts). You're responsible for your accounts there, for what you buy, and for following those sites' terms. HeatSeeker never reads your passwords or payment details.
8. Ending your access
You can leave any time by telling us. We may end your access, and your free unlock, if you break these terms (for example sharing or selling your code, posts without disclosure, or misleading posts), misuse HeatSeeker, or harm other users or the sites HeatSeeker works with.
9. Feedback and your posts
- Feedback: bug reports and ideas you send help build HeatSeeker. You let us use them freely, without owing you anything.
- Your posts: you own your posts. You let us link to them and show them, with credit to you, on tryheatseeker.com and HeatSeeker's own social accounts. Tell us any time to stop showing a post and we will.
10. Our stuff
HeatSeeker, its software, name and logo belong to us. You may use the name and screenshots to post about HeatSeeker. Don't copy, resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app.
11. No warranty, limited liability
HeatSeeker is provided "as is" during the alpha, without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us, if any. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.
12. Privacy
What we collect from applicants and testers, and why (including your exit survey answers), is in our privacy policy: tryheatseeker.com/privacy.
13. Changes and law
We may update these terms; we'll tell testers by email or in the app before a change that affects them applies. If you keep testing after that, the new terms apply. These terms are governed by the laws of Utah, USA. If there's a dispute, write to us first and we'll try to sort it out in good faith for 30 days. After that, disputes go to the state or federal courts in Utah, unless the law where you live gives you the right to go to your own courts. We may transfer these terms, and your free access, to a company formed to run HeatSeeker (for example HeatSeeker LLC); your rights under them stay the same.
